Paneer Butter Masala

A classic North Indian delicacy with rich, buttery tomato gravy and soft paneer cubes, made aromatic with AV Paneer Butter Masala.

Ingredients

For the Paneer Butter Masala:

  • Paneer (Cottage Cheese) – 250g (cubed)
  • Butter – 2 tbsp
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Onion – 1 large (finely chopped)
  • Tomatoes – 3 large (pureed)
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste – 1 tbsp
  • AV Paneer Butter Masala – 2 tbsp
  • AV Red Chilli Powder – ½ tsp (optional for extra spice)
  • AV Turmeric Powder – ¼ tsp
  • Fresh Cream – 2 tbsp
  • Kasuri Methi (Dried Fenugreek Leaves) – 1 tsp (crushed)
  • Salt – To taste
  • Water – 1 cup (adjust consistency)
  • Fresh Coriander Leaves – For garnish

Instructions

For Paneer Butter Masala:

  1. Heat butter and oil in a pan. Add onions and sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste, cook for 1 minute, then add tomato puree and cook till oil separates.
  3. Add AV Paneer Butter Masala, AV Red Chilli Powder, AV Turmeric Powder, and salt. Cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add 1 cup water, mix well and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Add paneer cubes and cook for another 5 minutes.
  6. Add cream and crushed kasuri methi, simmer for 2 minutes, and garnish with coriander leaves.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve hot with naan, paratha, or jeera rice.
  • Top with a dollop of butter for restaurant-style richness.

  • Use fresh paneer for soft texture.
  • Simmer the gravy slowly for a deep, rich flavor.
  • Adjust cream as per desired richness.
  • For a smoky flavor, use the dhungar (charcoal) method.
