For Garnishing:

  • Fresh Cream – 2 tbsp (optional, for a creamy texture)

Instructions

 For The Chicken Curry :-

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
  • Clean and cut the chicken pieces into medium-sized chunks.
  • Marinate the chicken with a little salt and turmeric powder. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
  1. Heat Oil & Sauté Onions:
  • Heat oil in a large pan or pressure cooker on medium heat.
  • Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown (5-7 minutes).
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and slit green chilies, sauté for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  1. Add Tomatoes & Spices:
  • Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften and oil starts to separate from the masala (5 minutes).
  • Add the ready-made chicken masala, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally to avoid burning.
  1. Add the Chicken Pieces:
  • Add the marinated chicken pieces to the pan and mix well to coat them with the spices.
  • Sauté the chicken for about 5-7 minutes until it changes color and starts to cook.
  1. Add Water & Simmer:
  • Add water to the pan and mix well. You can adjust the amount of water to achieve your desired gravy consistency (thicker or more liquid).
  • Cover and cook on medium heat for about 20-25 minutes until the chicken is tender and cooked through. You can cook it for 3-4 whistles in a pressure cooker if you’re using one.
  1. Garnish & Final Touches:
  • Once the chicken is cooked, check for seasoning and adjust salt if needed.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and add fresh cream (optional) for a creamy finish.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve the chicken curry hot with steamed rice, roti, naan, or paratha.
  • Pair it with raita or a side salad for a complete meal.

Essential Tips

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of garam masala at the end of cooking.
  • For a thicker curry, you can grind a few tablespoons of fried onions into a paste and add it to the curry.
  • For a spicier curry, you can increase the amount of green chilies or red chili powder.
  • For a rich texture, you can add yogurt or cashew paste during cooking.
